Highlights

Location: Cliff-top overlooking south Devon coast

Rooms: Sea and garden view rooms

Dining: Fresh seafood from Brixham trawlers

Wellness: Heated indoor pool & spa hot tub

Grounds: 6 acres with petanque court & croquet lawn

Pet Policy: Dog-friendly with pet bowls

“Here's my take: with its cliff-top perch, this place wins on views alone, especially from rooms facing the sea. What makes it work, though, is the unpretentious comfort - think good food, attentive service, and no pressure to have a nice day. That, plus the gardens and coastal paths, makes for a proper escape.”

The Berry Head Hotel is frequently praised for its amazing views of Torbay and Brixham harbour, particularly from its apartments, where some guests enjoyed the experience of watching the sunrise from their hot tub. The apartments are modern, spacious, and well-equipped, providing a comfortable stay, although a few guests have noted heavy and loud music on the terrace on Saturday afternoons. Its location allows for a pleasant walk into Brixham, and the hotel's dining options, including the formal restaurant and brasserie, offer quality, locally sourced food.

lovely experience

relaxed atmosphere chill music warm welcome
We loved the terrace. It was busy, yet the atmosphere was relaxed. a guest dj was playing good chill music to tap your feet to. one staff member, mandy, stood out for her welcome and kind manner.
the hotel said there was ev chargers, but they don't work. the receptionist chose to mock us instead of investigating. more people have ev's now, so this is not good.

mouldy curtain cleaning issue
i found a couple of issues . the shower in the bathroom had a rather old-fashioned curtain, which i thought was quite outdated. also, there was a significant amount of mould on the bottom of the curtain it was quite unpleasant. in addition, i noticed a massive cobweb above the bed, indicating cleaning was not thorough enough. this was disappointing and detracted from the overall quality i expected.
